Because CJane gets whatever she asks for....

This is my self portrait at 10 pm.

Do you think I look tired?

Yes?

Well, maybe that's because my alarm woke me at 5:35 am so I could go exercise. Then we had the hassle of getting the boys off to school, followed by my attempts to catch up on some housework before showering. Those attempts were interrupted by a phone call from the school at 10:35. Ms. B told me I needed to come pick up S--. Want to know why? Take a look:

Apparently, he got in a fight with the "Big Toy."

He lost.

And ended up waiting with me in the doctor's office over an hour for this:

At the end of the day, he ended up happy with three stitches.

I ended up tired.

I'd say you both look pretty damn good considering the circumstances. (I just dropped the "d" word on Sister Pottymouth Mom Boo-YA!)

Thanks for posting, it's even great when it's late!

Awesome! Someone else swears on my blog!

I'm up even later than you are....

One by one, your family members will find a way to make a visit to the doctor.

For a day like that, pottymouth permissions is fully ON. Wow. No fun. Fortunately my Ginta hasn't figured out how to hurt himself like that (knockonwood).

Such sweet faces! (Glad they stitched instead of stapled, you know. I guess it's more cosmetically correct.)

Hope today is less eventful!

Compulsive: S-- was worried that they were going to put staples in, like they did for Phil's head wound. He was relieved to see that the doc used stitches instead. He was an incredibly brave little guy. He didn't scream or fight or even cry--just the occasional sniff.

Kengo: Thanks. Watching your child get stitches isn't fun. The word "shitbucket" comes to mind...

b.: neener neener. Did you get any sleep last night?

Lyle: Don't curse me that way. We've had enought doctor visits this winter...

What a brave boy! One of my boys has had to get stitches multiple times. It's not fun.

I liked your honest self-portrait. You captured exactly how a mother feels after a day you had. The difference between you and me though, is you still look good even when you are tired. Maybe because you get up early and exercise! I should try that sometime!

I saw his band-aid on his head tonight and wondered about it......now I know.

I love that you had the wherewithall to take a pic of it.

i love that you took pics of the wound!

ps. i'm still cracking up over your profile about swearing at girl's camp. my husband just was called to be the assistant cub leader and i don't know if they know he has a potty mouth.

You're very brave and honest. Reading about your day makes me tired for you. :)

Rites of passage...for moms and sons...viva la sleep deprivation, staples & sutures! (Damnit)

Love the pics. You and your son are making the exact same face in your first two pictures. What 'big toy' did you get hit with?

p.s. damn hell damn

Cari: Awww, thanks! It's a good thing I didn't post the third picture I took of myself or you wouldn't be complimenting me on my late-night looks. Yikes.

pflower10: I love taking pictures of really cool wounds. I've already said before how much I regretted not taking pictures of the time Tommy sewed a stitch into my finger with the sewing machine. Now that was an awesome wound!

Natalie: Welcome! I'm glad to be the cause of your giggles. If your hubby doesn't like his new calling, all he has to do is drop a few choice words here and there. (Then again, it didn't work for me. But I really love my calling.)

Daredevil: Stitches are one of my favorite things. ;-)

Melody: At least Sam didn't make me ask three different people whether or not he needed stitches. Unlike Phil, Sam trusts my judgment. (hee hee)

Sarah: The "Big Toy" is what the kids call the biggest set of playground equipment they have. And dammitall if you aren't right--we are making the same face! You'd think we were related or something. Thanks for swearing with me.

I'm glad you played the game, too, and that the last couple days have been less eventful. :)

Wow. That's the best Minerva McGonagall impression I've ever seen. You look genuinely menacing.

S.. is a pretty tough and very sweet little boy. I'll have to start calling him "The Boy Who Lived."

I remember getting konked on the head with a big rock in second grade while waiting for the bus. It must have cut a blood vessel or something because it was squirting all over the place. I was totally freaked out.

I cupped my hands to catch the blood (as if they could put it back in or something) but it didn't make much difference. I still ended up at the hospital with Mom. By the time we got there it had stopped bleeding and didn't require stitches, but I was pretty green for a while.

All of my kids keep me in stitches. Stitches bills, that is. We make the doctors of Houston veeeeery happy. I might have single-handedly financed a new Beamer or vacation home. That really makes my heart warm and fuzzy with happiness.

Hope your little man is feeling better. He looks so much like your husband. Like a mini-clone. Seriously.

ewl: Doesn't he though? The likeness can be uncanny. I suppose Phil could refer to him as "mini-me," but it's highly unlikely. (Funny, but not likely.)

Klayber: You know I'm tired when it took me 10 minutes today to understand why you were calling me Minerva. I think I like Murray better.

Elizabeth: Thanks. I was grateful for an uneventful weekend. He even got the stitches out.
