I've always wanted to go to Texas, but I'm not sure what I'd do there. I don't know anyone there, and don't know anything exciting to see there besides the Alamo.
I'm surprised you don't need a passport or visa to vist Texas. It's like its own country.
Why carrot, let me extol the many things that can be done in Texas [and I'll just use Lubbock as an example]
You can watch the many grackles. You can visit oodles of pubs and wineries. You can see Buddy Holly paraphernalia...an entire museaum dedicated to him. You can watch tornados, dust storms, and tumble weeds the size of a buick roll by. You can vist all 5 Walmarts Drive the loop play or watch football 24/7/365 vist me and my brood
Now for the other parts of Texas, there are less interesting things to do, like tour the Alamo, watch a professional sports [baseball, basketball, football] hunt wild boar drill for oil sea world 6 Flags cool architectural buildings anything else cities of 2-4 million people has to offer.
Just flew in from Houston this afternoon. Enjoy the traffic, the mosquitoes, the roaches the size of rats, the beautiful bluebonnets, and some Blue Bell ice cream (homemade vanilla is the best!!) When you get out of the shower, you might swear you're still in it :)
Well, as long as my brother Lyle is there, you can rest assured there is something to see. He and his brood are a fun bunch. Of course, a lot of the fun might be found in laughing at Lyle's tennis form. (See the latest post on Lyle's blog)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (belated)
Hey Julie--Have I wished you Happy Birthday yet?
Happy Birthday!
Thanks everyone! I had a wonderfully relaxing time hanging out with my bro & SIL. They are the best!
Actually, Azucar, I don't get to have my birthday on Easter as often as you'd think, but it has happened in the past. I've never actually kept track.
And, actually, how many times can I say "actually" in one comment? I mean, actually?
