The Shirt Virus Spreads

Is it a plague? Only you can decide.

This is for Lorien, C Jane, ~j, sewfunny, and the rest of you out there who also own "THE SHIRT."

I got mine for $1 at the Orem Walmart. My husband, not to be outdone by Guy, calls it my Garden of Gazoingos. Lovely.

Gazoingos. That's one I haven't heard before. Leave it to Phil. You do look lovely. As do the rest of the sistahs.

Ummmm, very festive? My Mom and I used to have matching Mexican embroidered dresses back in the day. Bet you wish you had a couple of daughters to foist your floral shirt "Bobsey Twin" dreams on.

It's so discombobulating to see the adult you in contrast to your avatar of you as a child. I thought perhaps you were like Peter Pan and never really grew up.

Don't be fooled by the kid in the adult body. She never really grew up. (Which is one of the many things I love about her.)

I like how you paired the shirt with a green tank underneath!

Score for the Gazoingos.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone. Elastic: compulsive is right. On the inside, I'm still just a kid. On the outside, I have a Peter Pan haircut.

I forgot to mention something about my little glowy necklace thing in the picture: We had a family party last weekend at which my second son got to choose something for a prize. He chose these bead necklace thingies because he "really needed some jewels." (Doesn't every boy need them?) Then he gave me one of the necklaces, along with a sucker, "because you've been so sweet to me all these years!" He was thrilled to see me wearing his gift.

I'm so honored!

Let me tell you Julie I so admire people that wear dollar clothing purchases. My Mom bought me some discontinued shirts at the dollar store that are polo styled with SIX FLAGS printed on the sleeve. I keep telling Papi that we need to make a road trip to a Six Flags theme park and I'll flash my official shirt and get us in on an employee discount.

You? Well maybe they'll let you into Mexico or any other participating Spanish country free with your shirt and the purchase of a large burrito. Promotion ends 6/2006, not to be used with any other discount or coupon.

C'mon, Mable. Just do it. (Peer pressure, anyone?) Buy the shirt! It's beautifully comfy....

Elastic: I actually bought my mom three of these (white, pink, and green) because she liked mine so much. And for a buck apiece, I can afford to spoil my mom once in a while. ;-) I'll have to remember the expiration date for the coupon.

Geo: Awwww, shucks!

I hope you didn't give her those shirts already Julie. There is no better occasion to gift a Mom with dollar embroidered Mexican shirts than at Mother's Day.

Just a small token of appreciation to the woman who birthed and cared for you. Just tell her not to wear them on the days that Immigration Enforcement is sweeping through Utah.

I like your shirt--my wardrobe before children and after children is staggeringly different (where I shop, fabrics I'll buy, etc.). A good one dollar shirt cannot be beat--if I wear it once and it gets someone wiping her chocolate chip lips on it I feel I've come out ahead!
By the way, there's a meme circulating, and I've added you to the list. You can see the questions on my blog--I'd love to see your answers.

Julie-
That shit looks great on you! I missed out on the frenzy - I didn't know how to blog back then. Besides when God was handing out good taste, I thought he said "paste" and I told him I already ate some.

Mel, your comment made me snort. Good thing I wasn't eating my cereal & milk or I might have spilled snot out my nose onto my nice shit. ;-)

Guess I didn't miss out after all - go see my blooming bossom on my blog. I have to tell you again, Jules, you are one of the funniest women. Here's to snot blowing for years to come! Love ya'
