Things I've Heard at My House Lately

These are the nice ones. I won't describe the one where Atticus called Phil a Nazi. (I kid you not.)

**************

While going through Atticus' shirts to see what still fits, he informed me that he would not be wearing the nice, hand-me-down sports T-shirts because he's not familiar with the teams.

"So?" I said.

"People ask me who the teams are and I don't know enough about sports to tell them." (spoken with that "duh" tone of voice that only a teenage son uses)

"And...?"

With an exasperated sigh, he replied, "Moooom, you might as well tattoo 'I don't get out much' on my forehead!" He used gestures and everything. I thought I was going to wet myself from laughing so hard. I know, you had to be there, but truly, it was funny.

**************

I took Sweet Boy and Mr. Wiggle Brows on errands yesterday, one of which included the office supply store. Mr. Wiggle Brows found several things of interest, but his favorites, the two that inspired a near melt down, were a packing tape dispenser and.......duct tape.

"But I want my OWN duct tape! I don't want to use yours. I NEED it."

Um, dude, you're not even in Kindergarten yet. What the hell do you need duct tape and a tape gun for?

J Boo says lots of things now, and can get anything she wants from her Daddy by just saying "Thank you!" but she captivated us completely last night when we realized she was singing "Mahna Mahna." Yeah, that one. It was awesome. (That's for you, ~j.)

i could tell j boo had her dad wrapped around her tiny little finger the very first time i saw the two of them together. :)

and i can't explain it, but duct tape inspires some kids. i will never forget the year my l~wanted and received several rolls of bright colored duct tape for her birthday. i had a great time seeing the many uses she found for it. i think that's right up there w/ the wonderfully clever and useful bridal shower and wedding gifts you give. love it!

Duct tape is Bubby's favorite thing. Of course, he also wears it everyday (belt, to keep his diaper on).

Hey potty mouth... I am a friend of Klin's and I met you at dinner Friday night. I really enjoyed visiting with you and I hope you dont mind if I follow your blog. I am cracking up at your blog. I love it! I have a blog, but there isnt alot on it yet-But I am getting there. I loved the story about Duct tape. It reminds me of my husband the time he was doing a whole bunch of landscaping with really big sharp rocks and cut his shin open REALLY BAD along with his hand- I am sure you will never guess what he doctored himself with. you got it! Duct tape. Crazy guy... It took months for his injury to heal. He really should have had stitches. It really does have many uses though.

that really was a great time the other night...thanks!

I can't believe she is walking AND talking!

I hear duct tape makes a great wallet. He could start a business.

poor Swindlers. . . we're all doomed to know nothing about any professional sports teams (or sports in general for that matter)!

I totally understand his embarrassment---Kamryn asked me who her favorite sports team should be the other day because her "boyfriend" wanted to know (*gasp*) and I couldn't think of anything but the Jazz

Duct tape is great stuff...I personally know someone from my previous life whom I would love to duct tape their speaking orifice shut.
