Hazmat Haircut

Remember this?

T--, the 2-year-old in the story, is now four. He still hates haircuts. Phil, ever mindful of the missionary skill of resolving concerns, came up with the solution.

T--'s concerns: 1. He hates it when the hair falls in his eyes, and 2. He hates hair in his mouth.

Of course, I figured if he'd just calm down and not scream both problems would be solved. My resolution hasn't yet worked. Apparently, success means having the ability to relax during torture.

But if you give a man/kid the right tools, he can do anything. This last haircut, we had the best haircutting experience ever in T--'s lifetime. Don't believe me? Here's proof:

Give the kid goggles and a face mask and he can survive the worst torture his mother can dream up. Do you think we're prepared for a nuclear attack?

Oh my gosh Julie, that's hysterical. It is also such a classic engineer type of response to a problem. Excellent!

Wow, what a great idea! The last time our 2 year old got a haircut it took 2 of us to hold him still. This might just work.
Where do you get one of those things anyway?

Beautiful!!!!! You could get that patented and sell it to Great Clips, and such!

Hey, whatever works.

But seriously, that is hilarious!

CW, EW, and Geo: Yeah, I laugh every time I see the pictures. Every time. And the haircut happened back at Thanksgiving.

Jill: Welcome! You can see from the picture that we still had to have my husband hold him. The contraption is actually two things--goggles and a face mask used to filter air (used if you're painting or doing something where you don't want to breathe fumes or small particles).

Ingenious! And it definitely takes a husband to think that one up.

Love it!! Could Phil come up with a way to get a 3-year-old to sleep in his own bed before May?

Totally awesome idea!

We borrowed a "Flobie" once thinking that would make hair cutting easier. Yeah, like a big loud vacuum sucking at your head is any better??? What were we thinking?

Oh my gosh! I could have totally used that today while cutting my 4-year-old's hair. He freaks out about getting hair in his mouth and nose. Where can I GET one of those?!
