And not with spray paint. I was tagged by Compulsive Writer, which means I have to "List 5 things people may not know about [me] and tag 5 people to do the same." Could be interesting, so here we go.
1. I once interviewed for a job as Barbie for a Toys R Us store opening. You had to have certain measurements to fit into the dress. I don't think I got it because I was (still am) too small up top. I've never liked Barbie, to tell the truth, so I'm glad I didn't get it. I doubt my brothers would ever have let me live that one down.
2. I went to "modeling school," if you can call it that. That's where I got the interview for Barbie.
3. I used to clog, and I really liked it. I can still shuffle step and chug with the best of them, if I do say so myself. (Chug is a clogging step, not what you do with a beer.)
4. I was born and raised in Utah and have never, ever been skiing.
5. I am one class shy of a Math minor, but I graduated with a degree in English. Go figure.
I'm tagging Leah, Lessel Peeper, Nihao, Lyle, and, since she hasn't done it yet in spite of being tagged, Lorien. Happy blogging!

Way to be a player Julie! I'm glad you didn't get the Barbie part, too. I think you probably weren't hired because you have too much on top--you are amply endowed with brains. I'd take brains over, well, the other B-word (to repeat one of my favorite quotes from your comments--can I say that in this blog?) any day!
Glad to see that you chose what we like to call "the right way" (English). Math would have left you cold and all alone in the darkest abyss.
compulsive: Thanks for the compliment. I'll take brains over (ahem) brawn any day as well. ;-)
lyle: I liked math--still do--but that last class I had to take was too much. It was like that Far Side cartoon where the kid raises his hand and says, "Mr. Allen, may I be excused? My brain is full." I couldn't understand a word the teacher was saying, so I dropped the class and took something else.
Sheesh. I'll get to it already. Eventually. Sometime...
in the next year or so.... ;-)
Ok...I knew all that stuff about you, but since I am your brother I should.
I have never been skiing either. When people hear that about me they look at me like I have missed out on one of life's greatest offerings. Strange, but I just don't think it sounds like that much fun.
As for the Barbie doll job, oh well, I hear they are looking for someone to play Allie McBeal....
No thanks. I'm not into that eating disorder stuff, whether it's true about her or not. Nah--I'll take that back. My only eating disorder is eating too much. ;-) Thanks for the comment, nihao.
nihao: You really have missed out on one of life's greatest adventures by not going skiing. However, if you do decide to try skiing you must go at least 3 times. The first time is miserable and you hate the person who is trying to teach you. The 2nd time is okay, but you're still really frustrated because you still can't get on the ski lift very well and you fall down a lot. Finally by the third time you can get on the ski lift just fine and you will actually make it down an easy run without falling down!
Julie: I thought that you were just a simple choir accompniast (sp?). Who knew you were a hot model trying to be the next Suzanne Somers! well, maybe not her.
Becks: I don't know about "hot" model, and I'm definitely not old enough to be Suzanne Somers, but thanks for the implied compliment. And it's "accompanist," by the way. That's the preferred term at our house--too many people mispronounce "pianist" over the pulpit. (Think about it....)
becks, I'm impressed. I think it took me a whole season before I could get off the ski lift without causing a major pile-up or breaking equipment (honestly!). But you are right...it is a wonderful thrill. Wish I had more moola and a nanny so I could go more often, but I should make it up a couple times this year. Good advice. I'll add one: Take a lesson from an instructor, that way you can hate the person and not have to try to like them again later. Plus he or she might be hot and it's always nice to be around hot people.
